You know when your cousin or friend wants to sleep over, you tell them to ask your parent instead of asking them yourself? A lot of us did this for so many reasons. Some because they were scared of what the response would be, some because they didn’t have enough of a relationship with their parents to ask and some simply because they didn’t want to deal with the issue at hand themselves. Doesn’t this remind you of something else though ? Like that time you felt insecure so you seeked the approval of man so you wouldn’t have to deal with the actual problem or the only Being that could give you true satisfaction. Or that time you had strong feelings of lust and instead of tackling it head on, you found different unhealthy ways to cope rather than being real with yourself and identifying the issue.
We love being passive and allowing ourselves to pull the wool over our own eyes. We love to try to kick the ice under the fridge or the dirt under the rug rather that just cleaning up the mess that we made. It’s not like we can clean the mess on our own too, we have to either get that broom for the dirt or paper towel for that ice. When we clean up those messes, the roll of paper towel doesn’t disappear and the broom doesn’t go AWOL. They’re still there, ready to be used again; not only to clean up messes but to keep the area clean after a daily wipe down or clean up.
You see with God, He is always ready and available to help you tackle whatever problem, situation, hardship that is in your path. The King of Peace is willing to go the depths of hell, our lowest, darkest, scariest parts of our lives and help us claim victory through His Majestic Name. Wow what a Savior, the One who knew exactly what you would be going through and died on the cross ushering His Spirit on Earth so that we wouldn’t go through it alone.
With such a Spirit in us we forget that we have direct access to our Father, Lord of Lords, Creator of all things. This Spirit that speaks to us, guides us, gives us strength, our comfort, our refuge, our shelter. Because of this Spirit there is no need for a middle man. There’s no need for a coping mechanism. There’s no need to the justification or validation of man. There’s no need for anything but Him and His awesomeness.
With God we are complete, whole and in the direct path of our salvation and kingdom prosperity. There is nothing to hard for our Maker and He reminds that to us everyday we are alive and well; not defeated by what may have happened to us in our past. I pray that we all turn to our Maker in all things, good or bad. I pray we all seek Christ for through Him all strength, wisdom and knowledge is provided. I pray we never forget we have direct access to everything we’ll ever need through the one and true God.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
