When originally thinking about this week’s post I had an idea about what I wanted to talk about. A lot of the times we try to take control of the work we do as Christians both in ministry and out of ministry. God probably laughs at us like little do they know, My will supersedes the thoughts their finite minds settle on. So thinking this blog post would be about one topic, here I am writing about something completely different. As Christ followers we need to continuously remember that our will can not compare to the will of God.
With His will, the Lord reminded me of what today is and the weight this weekend holds for each and every one of us. This weekend represents the freedom, liberation, grace, never ending mercy that has become our portion because of the sacrifice our Savior made for us. This weekend emphasizes the renewal, rebranding, and cleansing of our very being. This weekend highlights the transition we made from filthy, unworthy, sin filled, flesh led people to blood washed, anointed, forgiven, saved and crowned Kings and Queens we are called to be.
Many of us limit this memory of His ultimate price for our souls to this weekend. We forget that the same blood shed on Calvary is the same blood that can be applied to ANY situation, ANY stronghold, ANY obstacle that is holding us back from our future of prosperity promised by our Almighty Maker. Stop limiting God. Stop limiting celebrations of His Word and glory over our lives to specific weekends or seasons of life. We need to apply the understanding of His love to our everyday lives. Jesus Christ of Nazareth was beat, spat on, disrespected, whipped, disregarded, mocked for the sake of our lives. We did nothing, absolutely nothing to deserve that kind of endearment but yet He still gave His life so that you and I will be able to see a new day with His Spirit dwelling in us and all around us.
When thinking about today, I can not even fathom that Jesus Christ was thinking about me writing this blog in the moments He was being nailed so that I can spread His Word. He was thinking about everything you and I would go through and wanted to save us. He knew from the very moment the world was created that He would have to come down and save us from ourselves. He was thinking about all we are called to be and all the great and marvelous things we will do because we know who we serve.
We need to start appreciating everything the Lord has done for us. We need to proudly wear the garment of the Most High everywhere we go. We are living testimonies of the blood that was shed so that everything that is dead in us comes alive. The Lord has cancelled early graves, addictions, bondages on each and every one of us is so many unique ways. The least we can do is go out into the world remembering the sacrifice that was made for us while being ambassadors of His Word and never forgetting who El Shaddai is in His entirety.
Mark 16:15-16 King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned
