Surviving the Corona

Having a 3.8 mortality rate, the corona virus has made its presence known in our world causing disruption and mayhem. With schools closing, government quarantines, and unnecessary discrimination, the corona virus is exposing a fear in the human race that has been dormant for decades. Being that there have been many different illnesses during my lifetime that has caused a panic including ebola or the swine flu, the corona virus, with the lowest death rate of an severe illness so far, seems to have the people going. Now is it because of our dramatic demeanor as spoiled millennials, the fear of the end times or a secret government plot to usher us into the worst times known to man? Wherever the cause of frenzy derives from, as followers of Christ it is time to move.
Our ministry as Christians include evangelism, healing, casting out unclean spirit, and interception. Now that doesn’t mean mobbing to your nearest hospital, forcing your way into quarantine areas and starting a revival. It means securing the faith that has brought us this far and tapping into it like never before.
First we need to open our spiritual eyes and ears and allow for the Spirit of God to speak to us. We tend to fuse His Word with all the other nonsensical white noise plaguing our minds. I know the cleaning shelves in stores are cleared out but find a way to clean out the dirt in our spiritual lives so you can make way for the clean. We need to clear our minds and settle our inner mans and make way for the Spirit of the Lord. That same Spirit will direct your steps and give you instructions on avoiding certain places, people, and things that might lead you straight to sickness. Our God is literally mercy and grace and He does not want us to fall into premature death because we did not listen.
Now with us leaning into the Spirt of the Most High, the Lord will place on our hearts different groups of people we will need to intercede for. Being the light in the world, we need to find a way to shine even when darkness alludes us. Praying for our families, our churches, our schools, our communities, our countries and even the whole world as a united front as the body of Christ will take us so far. Being the Bride of our Savior means being a mother too. What do mothers do? They look out for the well-beings of all those they are responsible for. The different people we come in contact with, are the different responsibilities we have as Christians. There is absolutely no reason we encounter someone and they leave the same.
Now I’m not talking about a quick 1, 2 prayer. I’m talking about a consistent prayer for God to strip away the seal of ignorance and naivety that has seemed to seep into the DNA of all those around us. The consistent prayer that His healing waters will flow through this world cleansing His people of impurity. The consistent prayer that the angels of Heaven will come down and stand as a protective barrier against the enemy that is working in overtime right now. The consistent prayer that lives will continue to be saved as we usher into the last days.
There’s a Sunday School song my mother used to always sing that included the lyrics of how prayer is the KEY. I honestly didn’t start understanding this until last year. Without prayer and constant communication with the Alpha and Omega, we are lost in this world. I don’t know about y’all but I refuse to be lost and taken out by a feeble virus before I carry out the Lords plan for me. I need everyone to stay clean, stay aware, stay alert, but most importantly, continue to stay blessed and highly favored for the Kingdom is ours.
